Meet Alfie
Hey there, I’m Alfie Whitby (they/them), a storyteller and communicator based in West Yorkshire. Via creative project management and media production, I use my skills as a multi-disciplined artist, musician, filmmaker and journalist, with a wealth of experience working a variety of roles within the creative industries, to help individuals, businesses and community groups tell important and engaging stories that always leave a positive impression. Alongside my creative work, I have extensive e-commerce and product creation knowledge, successfully running an online arts shop for 15 years. As someone with neurodivergence and mental health challenges, I am incredibly passionate about accessible storytelling and creative expression.

My goal is to enable those who may have little social media experience or budget to make the most of the tools available to them. Experience Highlights
Stadium-Sized Art
I was commissioned by Cardiff City FC to create a giant wall illustration for the family stand area of Cardiff City Stadium. The artwork features fans of all ages celebrating their favourite team while wearing famous shirts spanning the club’s history.
Award-Winning Journalism
In 2007 I co-founded Cat On The Wall – Music and Culture Webzine, an award-winning online arts magazine featuring interviews and opinion pieces from a small international team of writers and contributors. We also organised live music and art events.
Crowdfunding Success
I’ve organised and promoted a number of highly successful crowdfunding campaigns on platforms like Kickstarter and GoGetFunding. In 2021, my ‘Calendar of Encouragement’ Kickstarter campaign was warmly received and raised over double the target.
Worldwide Collaboration
Creating music as Laurence Made Me Cry, my debut album ‘The Diary of Me’ was a worldwide collaborative effort. The album went on to be shortlisted for the Welsh Music Prize with tracks gaining regular plays on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2.
